Kenyan Leader Indicts World Community over Somalia’s Situation

Nairobi,(insiesomalia.org)-Speaking to the reporter at Kenyatta international airport on his way to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa where IGAD regional summit opened Saturday the Kenyan president Mowai Kibaki who is the current chairman of IGAD has declared that the world community has paid no heed to the worsening situations in Somalia.

“Why couldn’t the world look Somalia with kindness eyes, please save Somalis” Kibaki said at a brief news conference he held.

He also declared that IGAD and AU have failed to send the 8,000 peacekeeping troops they pledged for Somalia.

“Some countries retracted from their decision on sending troops to Somalia except Uganda and Burundi that is not good” he added.

He noted that it’s essential to pull Somalia out from the worsening situation caused by the deadly violence engulfed the horn of Africa nation for more than 18 years.

He hailed Djibouti’s peace agreement jointly signed by Somali government and the opposition saying “its step taken to forward”

He informed that his government would attempt to help Somalia to restore peace.

He lastly pledged that he would focus the IGAD summit on the current situation of Somalia.

His travel to Ethiopian the President is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetangula and other senior Government officials.
